Who We Are
The Feather River Grappling Series is a community-driven jiu-jitsu tournament organization based in Northern California. We host well-organized, fair, and exciting competitions for all skill levels — from first-time white belts to seasoned veterans. Every event is built with the athlete in mind: smooth brackets, experienced referees, and a culture that respects the art of grappling.
How It Works

Register directly through Smoothcomp. No FRG membership required — all gyms welcome.
Tournament registration handled through SmoothcompShow up, weigh in, and compete. Optional FRG members save $10 on registration.
Optional Upgrade
Membership is optional — anyone can register and compete without joining. FRG Annual Membership adds $10 off tournament registrations plus member perks.
Membership does not include tournament entry. Tournament registration is completed separately through Smoothcomp.

Who Runs FRG
Feather River Grappling is run by Darrell, Jennifer, and Amory, a family that has spent years training, coaching, and competing in jiu-jitsu.
We know what it is like to travel to tournaments, bring kids and teammates, look for good matches, and spend an entire day at an event. FRG was created to build well-run, welcoming tournaments where competitors, coaches, and families enjoy coming back.

Beginner to advanced divisions. Whether it's your first tournament or your fiftieth, there's a bracket for you.
Experienced referees, clear rules, and transparent brackets. We run clean events so athletes can focus on competing.
FRGS is built by grapplers, for grapplers. We exist to grow the sport and the community in Northern California.
